I'm always on the lookout for new ways to organize my accessories  Where I saw this old Fridge shelf at a Bazaar I knew what it had to become. I hung it inside my cupboard to be able to clearly see and select the perfect pair of earrings for every outfit.

They have been around for years. I remember we had one in our house when I was growing up. Lately they are in fashion again. Very affordable, easy to find and they come in all different colors and sizes.
I decided to upcycle mine. All you need is the lampshade, very thin paper ( I used 2 unlined books that I cut up) and some sellotape.

It took about a hour to make and with the help of a few friends it was tons of fun to make!

Yesterday after going to the Milnerton Market I wanted to make a quick stop at Builder's Warehouse for some supplies to fix some of the things I just bought. So I'm just wondering round the store minding my own business when a Man with a Microphone asks me if I wanna take part in a Trolley Dash... Of course!! Pictures of The Reggies Rush ran trough my head, this has been a life long dream!!
They handed me a trolley and Orange hardhat. In the trolley there was a piece of paper with with 5 items on it that I will have to find.
I ran trough the store as quick as possible (like I've been practicing in my head all these years) The store assistants were amazing helping me everywhere they could and I quickly go all 5 Items from across the store.
I ran back to the start and to my surprise I was the first of of the 3 contestants to make it back.. WHOOOHHOOOO!!

Here is the hamper full of random things I won...

I recently went on a Trip to Bali. I knew the shopping was going to be good, but I never expected it to be this fantastic.
There is a 5km stretch of road between Ubud and Tegalalang that has amazing little shops in the front of their yards with work shops behind. We watched them efortlessly create masterpieces. The people of Bali has been passing down their skills from generation to generation and it shows.

Here are some of the shops I went into and a few of the things I bought...

Love blocks - R8 each

Owls - R5 each

TenPin Rabbits - R40 for a set of 3

Hand Printed Batik cloth -R60

Horse - R40

A few years ago I bought this old pin-board at the Milnerton Stalls for R30. It was covered with red velvet and it seemed as though it had seen better days. I didn't know what to do with it just yet, but I loved the shape and the size.
Having friends over quite often, I was in need of a cheese platter that was big enough to display a range of cheeses, dips & crackers, and I needed to be able to move it around during the evening. This board was the answer.

I removed the Red velvet that was nailed onto the wood, sanded it down and varnished it, and voilĂ !

 [ad-ven-cher]  noun, verb, ad·ven·tured, ad·ven·tur·ing.
an exciting or very unusual experience.
participation in exciting undertakings or enterprises: the spirit of adventure.
a bold, usually risky undertaking; hazardous action of uncertain outcome.
a commercial or financial speculation of any kind; venture.
Obsolete .
peril; danger; risk.
chance; fortune; luck.

What an amazing word, with so much excitement. It’s a word that holds the promise of the unknown. Recently Typo had a sale on their lettering canvases, only R10 each. I have wanted to put the word "adventure" up on my wall for quite some time, and this was the perfect opportunity. But, three of the letters were sold out - so I had to improvise! I bought three random letters, and with the help of Paint.net, I made it my own.

Organizing your accessories can be a nightmare. I want to be able to see all my options at once, and they must be easily accessible. I saw a friend use one of these mug stands from Mr Price (R39.99) for her earrings and I couldn't resist buying one for all my bracelets.

When I drive by a banner saying “church bazaarI immediately change all my plans that I had made for the day and stop off at the bazaar. What's not to love?! The bazaar pudding, the pancake stall and my favourite the... wait for it... the white elephants table. I have found amazing treasures for very cheap, and it's a constant surprise, seeing as you never know what you will find. This wooden lid, from an old decoupage box, was one of those finds. It only cost a few ZAR’s and everyone walked straight past, but I had a plan! I just had to buy it and make it my own, and this is the result!

I adore fabrics - the colours, the prints and the endless array of possibilities. Unfortunately, I’m not an expert, but I do know that most fabrics are quite expensive. Thus, when I found these dish cloths in PEP stores recently, at only R5,99, I couldn’t resist. Then my mind started racing… oh the possibilities!!
I decided on scatter cushions eventually, using the inners of some of my old Scatters I made this...

My bedside table constantly feels cluttered no matter how many times I try to organize it. A few years ago I saw a picture of this shelf on the internet and kept the picture to remind myself of the pure genius of this idea. I could keep a few of my books next to my bed without cluttering the bedside table and it looks neat and tidy.

I bought these 100 x 75mm brackets from Builders Warehouse for R16 each, and with the help of my dad screwed them into the wall. I then painted them the same colour as the Wall to hide them as much as possible. For only R32 and a few screws I ended up with a beautiful book case and a clear bedside table.
