CROSS MY HEART

For my Mothers Birthday She received the gift pack from a friend. Most of us has gotten something similar for a Birthday or Christmas and once you've used the products what do you do with the random packaging it came in. I feel to guilty to just throw it away, yes I'm a borderline hoarder. Some of them are useful but most of the time they just become white elephants in your home. Here is what I did with this gift set...

I started by drawing lines on the back of the box about 5mm apart. Then I drew the shape I wanted to indicate where to drill the holes.

I drilled the holes which took much longer than I thought, but it was all part of the fun.

I started sewing the crisscross stitches through the holes that I drilled. This also took some time.

And here is the result..

BLACK IS BACK

On another exciting trip to the Milnerton Market I found this Old frame for just R20. As I walked away the merchant made me promise I will make something beautiful out of it, hopefully I succeeded...

There was some glue stuck on the frame that I first had to scrape off. I used a NT-cutter because it was all I could find, but I'm sure there is a better way to do it.

The frame was incredibly dirty so I took my time washing it, just look how dirty the water was.. eeewww

I sanded the frame a bit to make sure that all the glue was off and the surface was smoooooth.

I taped up the outer part of the frame that I wanted to keep as the wooded texture, to make sure it stays as is.

I sprayed it with black Chalk board paint that I had left from a previous project

And here it is...

I bought this frame with his big brother that is slightly bigger. I'm still deciding what to do with it so let me know if you have any ideas...

ULTIMATE BRAAI BROODTJIE RECIPE

Once apon a time we went Camping and some one made this bread for us on the fire and it changed my life...

Here is how:

I use Salt, Pepper, Chilly flakes and the secret ingredient, Rosemary

There are quite a few variations to this recipe. I also add onions (like in the image above) to give extra taste.
Feel free to play around with different flavours and make it your own.

MY R10 COAT RACK

Another beautiful day at the Milnerton stalls and look what I found... an old broken coat rack for R10. Can you believe it, only R10! Needless to say I bought it immediately!
At home I screwed it apart and washed the pieces with warm soapy water, then sanded the metal rods a bit so that the paint would stick to it. Joe also cut a circular pieces of plywood out to replace the very rusty ring that was at the bottom.I desided on the beautiful Jade colour (G5-A1-1) from Plascon and a bit of white so that I can slowly mix the colours to get a ombre effect. What fun!!
